Link your Aadhaar number with IRCTC account and book 12 tickets per month
Indian Railways has increased the monthly limit of booking tickets online from IRCTC website from 6 to 12. A railway official said that in order to do this, the user needs to link to the Aadhaar card from his IRCTC account.
Indian Railways started this system on October 26. It is believed that Indian railways is encouraging the passenger to link the Aadhaar card from the IRCTC account on the pretext of increasing railway ticket cutting.
IRCTC officials said that the passenger can now book the top 6 tickets from the IRCTC account in one month. If the passenger does not want to add their Aadhaar number to this account, they will still be able to Book the maximum 6 tickets.
If booking more than 6 tickets from the website, the base number of the IRCT user should be updated, along with a passenger also.
On the IRCT portal, the user has to select the Aadhaar KYC option within the ‘My Profile’ category. After this the base number will be updated. After this you will have a one-time password on the mobile number registered with the Aadhaar card. This OTP will be used for verification.
Apart from this, the base number of another passenger going to be updated will also be updated in the master list. Verification will also be done through OTP. If there is a new passenger, then the user can use the passenger’s name and the details of the base card in the master list. Officials have said that it will have to be done before booking more than 6 tickets in this month.
It is also being claimed that after the facility comes, the middleman and travel agent will be prevented from making fake user id.
It may be known that from the IRCTC portal, one can cut the maximum 6 passenger tickets at a time in the common quota. At the same time, there are four passenger limit on every ticket in the immediate booking.
It is notable that Indian Railways made mandatory linking of IRCTC account with Aadhaar card in December last year. But after the protest this direction was withdrawn.
